A beloved snack across Uganda, samosas are perfect for parties, tea-time treats, or a savory street-food delight. With Bella Grain Homebaking Flour, your samosa wraps come out soft, elastic, and fry to a perfect crunch — every time!
Ingredients:
For the Dough (Wraps):
2 cups Bella Grain Homebaking Flour
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp vegetable oil or melted ghee
½ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
For the Filling (Vegetarian option):
2 medium Irish potatoes (boiled & mashed)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 green chili (optional, finely chopped)
½ cup boiled peas or carrots (optional)
1 tsp garam masala or curry powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tbsp oil
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
Mix Bella Grain flour and salt in a bowl.
Add oil and mix with fingers until crumbly.
Gradually add warm water and knead into a firm dough.
Cover and let rest for 20–30 minutes.
2. Prepare the Filling:
In a pan, heat oil and sauté onions until golden.
Add mashed potatoes, peas, spices, salt, and mix well.
Cook for 3–4 minutes. Let the filling cool.
3. Roll and Shape the Wraps:
Divide dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin oval or circle.
Cut in half. Fold each half into a cone, sealing the edge with water.
Fill with the potato mixture, then seal the top edges to close.
4. Fry the Samosas:
Heat oil in a deep pan.
Fry samosas on medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
Drain excess oil on paper towels and serve hot.
Tips:
You can use minced beef, chicken, or lentils for filling variations.
Always seal edges tightly to avoid oil seeping in.
Serve with tamarind sauce, chutney, or ketchup.
