Chapati

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil or melted butter (optional)


Instructions:

1. Mix the Dough

  • In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.

  • Gradually add warm water while kneading until you form a soft dough.

  • Add oil or butter for softer chapatis (optional).

  • Cover and let the dough rest for 20-30 minutes.

2. Roll the Chapati

  • Divide the dough into small equal balls.

  • Roll each ball on a floured surface into a thin round shape.

3. Cook the Chapati

  • Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat.

  • Place the rolled chapati on the hot pan.

  • Cook for about 1 minute until bubbles form.

  • Flip and cook the other side for another minute.

  • Press gently with a spatula to help it puff.

  • Remove and brush with oil or butter (optional).

4. Serve & Enjoy!

  • Serve hot with your favorite stew, curry, or tea.
